Flash’s Custom Stroke Styles

Although vector-based drawing tools will always tend to push the designer towards a cleaner, more mechanical look, Flash does actually let you rough things up just a tiny bit. If you play around with custom stroke styles you can get some interesting results:

The available options don’t produce realistic strokes, and must be a lot slower to render than plain lines, but can sometimes add more of an organic feel and help when combining vectors with hand-drawn bitmap artwork (as was needed for the Barwick-o-tron).
