Alternative Input
If you’ve ever had twinges of RSI then you’ve probably considered alternative input devices; most standard keyboards and mice are still poorly designed.
A graphics tablet and stylus are OK as a mouse replacement (great feel but a little error-prone), and vertical mice look interesting, but for now I’ve settled on a trusty IntelliMouse Optical.
I’ve also got a Microsoft Natural Keyboard (not bad, although I never use the extra keys), but for my Powerbook I’m currently tempted by the TouchStream MacNTouch, a combined keyboard and giant touchpad. It costs $259, probably feels horrible for typing, and commandeers one of the USB ports but, well, um… it looks different and lets you do fancy Minority-Report-style gestures! What more could you want?
